Sometime in the Spring/2008, Paul Stormberg of “The Treasure Trove” will commence an auction of DARLENE’s classic 1980’s artwork including originals of published work from “The Dragon Anthology,” “Rahasia,” the first RPGA module (published 1981), “The Amber Sword of World’s End,” a TSR one-on-one book (published in 1986) as well as a full-color painting for the 1981 Days of the Dragon Calendar.
DARLENE will also be selling her ARTIST’S COPIES of most of her PUBLISHED WORK including, but not limited to: A still-shrinkwrapped B1 Module, early issues of The Dragon and the early Dragon Anthologies, 2 Greyhawk Maps, a One-On-One Book, “The Amber Sword of World’s End” (1986), Gen Con Convention Booklets, DARLENE’s samples of the Monster Cards, Days of the Dragon Calendars, plus much more!
Part of DARLENE’s collection includes archived 28-year old photocopies of work for her files and includes some work for the DMG, Rogue’s Gallery, for Game Designer’s Workshop and also file photocopies of some artwork commissions.
Another tier of items in DARLENE’s collection include the Iconic Fantasy Art she prepared and sold at Gen Con as fantasy note tablets, bookplates and calligraphied RPG-related certificates. This tier also includes her personal collection of fantasy stamps, the original art which created them and the calligraphied literature DARLENE prepared for them.
History buffs may be interested some of DARLENE’s “behind-the-scenes” work including letterhead and promotional literature for TSR Periodicals and The Dragon, original lettering work for headings, paste-ups of published ads appearing in The Dragon and Gen Con Convention booklets.
